SASL INTERPRETER TRAINING
Thelma Kotze is an experienced trainer of SASL interpreters. We have conducted numerous courses that are always adapted to the specific needs of the SASL interpreters participating in the course. We have been involved extensively in compiling training manuals for SASL interpreter training (UNISA). |
SASL INTERPRETER CONSULTATION SERVICES
SASLINC does more than just “interpreting”. We can provide on-site diversity training to institutions that have a staff of SASL interpreters. We can provide diagnostic skill testing, policy and procedure development and continued training and development of the SASL interpreter/s in your institution. We provide consultation services to organisations, government and the private sector on the contracting and optimal use of SASL interpreters. |
SASL INTERPRETER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
In SASLINC we believe in sharing our skills to improve services to the Deaf community in general. For this purpose we provide mentoring for SASL interpreters. |
TRAINING OF DEAF COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS ON THE CORRECT USE OF SASL INTERPRETERS
SASLINC sees this area of training as a priority. Often untrained SASL interpreters violate the rights of members of the Deaf community. This situation prevails because of a lack of knowledge/information in the Deaf community about eg: the role of the SASL interpreter responsibilities of the SASL interpreter Code of Ethics for SASL interpreter rights of the Deaf client rights of the SASL interpreter
GOVERNMENTAL CUSTOMERS
The Government is probably the single largest employer of Deaf and Hard of Hearing citizens. The commitment that agencies show to the Deaf employees is greatly reflected in the quality and quantity of SASL interpreting services that are provided. SASLINC provides not only the one time SASL interpreter. We can also assist in locating and placing a temporary interpreter for your daily requirements. |
